Welcome to our new members who joined us on Saturday!  We hope you will enjoy the training sessions and programs offered by our trainers.  Our dog show is on 13th July 2019.  We would love to see you enter!

CLUB ACTIVITY

Our 56th AGM was a great success.  Our President, Mr Walter Binder, was in fine spirits and spent some time educating the members on hip dysplasia in the GSD.  Alan Dixon, one of our founder members (1963) also joined us.  Our meeting was followed by delicious German finger early supper.  Thank you to everyone for coming.

St Patrick’s Day was celebrated at the club with member and dog wearing green.  Festive green was decorated throughout the braai area with Guinness, beef pies, ball games, green juice and green muffins for the humans, and bandanas and doggy biscuits for the doggies.  Thank you to Rolanda and Richard for organizing the event.  There are fabulous photos on our Face Book page.

We train with treats and comfortable waist treat bags are for sale from Ruben on Saturdays.  They are R110 each and the small treat bag is R70 – stock is limited.  Leashes are R70.

Samantha and her team do a huge amount of volunteer work for Pretoria Animal Rescue.  They are always looking for donations of dewormer, vaccines, shampoo and blankets.  Often rescue organisations are left with a handful of volunteers and funds.  Please support Samantha and her team!  samantha.steenkamp.hds@gmail.com.

QUESTION: IS YOUR DOG A GOURMET DOG AND WHY?

No, because I wouldn’t let anybody eat my dog…

But he’s a picky eater so, yes he’s a brat.

Chris and Leo

Definitely not.  She eats everything! Including crayons, play doh, anything she can get hold of.

Emma and Ruby

TESTIMONIALS

Thank you to everyone who has sent testimonials – they’re on the website!  This is a powerful and easy way of advertising your club, so please make full use of it – www.pretoriashepherddogclub.co.za.  Our Face Book page also has some interesting photos and information!

MAINTENANCE

The grounds look spic ‘n span, thanks to Elvis and his hard-working team, although in summer we can hear the grass grow growing and manicured grounds are not always possible.   We need assistance with maintenance and improvements.  All members will be sent a notice to assist.  We wish to put together a 1-day work party, followed by a bring ‘n braai.  The club hasn’t had a work party get-together for a long time, and we look forward to spending time with you!

PRETORIA DOG RESCUE

Samantha and her team do a lot of wonderful work with Pretoria Dog Rescue.  It is a worthy cause to support.  Please put the word out that they have many, many dogs up for adoption.  Check out their Face Book page for more information.
